Commissioner

We will build Overseas Korean Agency that works with our Global Korean Community and Korean citizens.

On June 5, 2023, the Yoon Suk Yeol administration launched the Overseas Korean Agency, delivering the long-held aspirations of global Korean communities. The agency is dedicated to serving the needs of our overseas Koreans.

Today, 7 million overseas Koreans worldwide have become proud and valuable members of their local societies, contributing to Korea's rise to become the 'Global Pivotal State.'

Our goal at the Overseas Korean Agency is to support the global Korean community in taking pride in their Korean heritage, establishing solid roots in their host countries, contributing to their communities, and acting as a vital link between Korea and their countries of residence.

We aim to create a closely-knit connection between Korea and the overseas Korean community, foster mutual growth and development as a 'Global Korean Community,' and contribute to world peace and prosperity.

The Overseas Koreans Agency will faithfully serve as a bridge, ensuring that Korea and the overseas Korean community support and uplift each other in harmony.

We are committed to listening more attentively to the voices of our overseas Korean community, getting closer to them, and warmly embracing them.

We will always be the agency that stands together with our global Korean community and Korean citizens.

Thank you.

Commissioner of the Overseas Korean Agency
